Devil’s Throat cave’s entrance resembles a devil’s head, and down its throat rushes a massive waterfall that from ancient times has captivated imaginations and given birth to numerous legends. The most popular of these is that Orpheus descended down this orifice to the subterranean kingdom of Hades, to seek his lost love Eurydice. The Trigrade gorge where the cave is situated is spectacular, full of caves and alpine trolleys over the river. It is available only by mini buses because of the relief.
Yagodina Caveis one of the most famous and most-visited caves in Bulgaria. Its galleries extend to a length of 8,501 meters, which makes it the 4th longest cave in Bulgaria and the longest in the Rhodope. Free time for having lunch on site.The beauty of the Buynovo Gorge can beappreciated from “a bird’s-eye view” – from a constructed metal platformcall ‘The Eagle’s Eye’builton‘Saint Iliya’ Peak at a height of 1,563 meters, with impressive views of the entire surround areawhich can be reached by off road trip with jeep.
The village of Shiroka luka was found in the 17th century and has preserved its traditional local architecture from the Bulgarian Revival Period, its musical culture, beautiful landscapes, and rich history. Short stop in the center of the village for visiting a local crafts shop for souvenirs or just for a photo break.
