Lifelong learners of snowsports – Workshop
Read in DEHow does the BASI system encourage instructors to have a ‘holistic’ approach to snowsport teaching and therefore encourage clients to be lifelong learners of snowsports?
This workshop will focus on the performance threads; Technical, Tactical, Psychological, Physical, Equipment, Environment (TTPPEE). BASI recognise that a skill cannot be developed effectively if the client is not in a comfortable learning place (e.g. psychologically ready, in the correct environment to learn the skill etc.). TTPPEE, a concept that has been used by Canada and other nations around the world, has developed in our system over the past decade. It is now a prerequisite to learning and is referenced in our Performance Indictor Action’s (PIA’s). In this workshop, we aim to demonstrate the benefit of using the performance threads when teaching.
This workshop will be delivered using a combination of informative on snow delivery and interactive participation from the skiers.
All the deliverers are members of BASI’s National Education Team. The NET team are BASI trainers who deliver all levels of BASI training courses. They are involved in the development of BASI courses and the education of BASI trainers at the annual trainers conference.
