Encouraging adaptable instructors – Workshop

Read in DE

How does the BASI system encourage snowsport instructors to be adaptable technicians and adaptable teachers?

BASI’s intention is to create adaptable technicians of snowsports. Our system is skills based and not prescriptive. We educate instructors to teach clients through skills, which does not result in skiing a specific way.In this workshop, we will explore a variety of skills we can use to ski in different styles and discuss the importance of adaptability. We aim to have fun exploring adaptability and discuss how skills can be executed in a variety of ways. We will link our tasks to Performance Indicator Action’s (PIA’s) and discuss the important link between inputs and outcomes of a performance.

This workshop will be delivered using a combination of informative on snow delivery and interactive participation from the skiers.

All the deliverers are members of BASI’s National Education Team. The NET team are BASI trainers who deliver all levels of BASI training courses. They are involved in the development of BASI courses and the education of BASI trainers at the annual trainers conference.
